My bill is in credit - billmonitor didn't
Last year T-Mobile overcharged me £350, which rather than refund they decided to add as credit to my account. It seems that billmonitor can't understand that! My last three bills were all just under £30, although deducted from a credit balance. Billmonitor seems to think that my average for that period was £42!

Support other suppliers in the calulations (not for importing data).
I realise that there are many demands on your time, and that keeping your data up to date must be a challenge, so please don't take this as a critism in any way. I was wondering whether you could include Ikea Family in the analysis, just as an example of a third party (MVNO) operator. They have very simple call pricing at the moment 9p/min for voice and 6p/sms
I have that at the moment, and I'm fairly sure that it's cheaper than the cheapest option currently displayed. For my very low usage.

further analysis
Hello
Would it be possible to create a function to allow you to drill down further into your current usage. i.e. by mobile minutes, landlines and then even the itemised list?

Factoring in cost of leaving contracts early
A really great service, but the savings I stand to make would be offset - I guess - against the costs of leaving my existing contract early. I was asked on the questionnaire to state how many months remain on my existing contract, but was unsure if/how this was taken into account in the final analysis...

Take an average from completed months only
Billmonitor worked out that I use about half of the mins/texts I actually use. It appears to take into account the current month's spend, when calculating the average - which was £0.00 for me as I was only 2 days into that month's bill.

my contr
my contract with tmobile is solo sim only for £20 monthly. If i reach my allowance within any particular month, rather than getting charged extra for exceeding my allowance, i'd have to top up PAYG to continue using my phone until a new allowance is issued on the first gay of the new month. Your search for my details has been returning that I use a PAYG phone. This is not so but you can see the reason why your system is incapable of retrieving my details.

I holiday on an annual cycle so a 3 month average gives poor recommendations
I have been on billmonitor for a while, so you should have saved enough bills to total over 12 or 24 months. I think this would give me a better picture of what I would spend over the lifetime of the next contract.
I am shocked to see the phrase in regard to this "studies have shown that the average individual".... as of course billmonitor is most interesting for the non average individual.
I take irregular trips to destinations as varied as Iran or Siberia and at least one of these should be included in the averaging to make this…

Contract Advice
Not my idea, yours, and a good one. Whilst the information you provided wasn't quite accurate in my case, due to special long term discount, it was pretty good.
I have a particular problem having taken on aSamsung handset which I then find won't bluetooth to my car, a Mercedes, a change of handset is going to cost me which is an issue since I took Vodafones shops advice to have that handset.
More power to your elbow. Rgds John Marriott1 vote -
Current provider matched your recommendation
I rang my currant provider as my contract is ending & told them I was leaving to follow your advice re a recommended contract that was much cheaper. I haven't left my provider because they then offered me a new contract that not only matched your recommended one, but was better.
Thank you for that.1 vote -
free call allowance
I like you analyses, and mostly they work well, but they don't seem to be able to make alllowances for the unlimited landline calls I get on my Orange contract. Your analysis says I used just 12 minutes of my 300-minute call allowance, and therefore could find a cheaper contract. But that 12 minutes was of "chargeable" calls (ie calls to other mobiles) -- I made many more calls to landlines which are free, but outside the 300-minutes allowance. It's confusing, I know, and I think it is down to the way Orange presents bill data.

Same Network Calls
The vast majority of my calls are same network (O2 to O2) and I have a bolt-on that offers unlimited O2 to O2 call. It would be nice if the comparison could take account of this and not just the total number of minutes.
Many thanks though, it was interesting.

Great site - what about unlimited options?
My mobile contract includes unlimited texts and data usage - I'd like to know whether this is worth it for me or not however the site came up as saying I don't text or use the internet! I'm not sure how this could be taken into account...Great site though and I can use the advice that has been given!

Include in your calculations the coverage of each network
There's no point changing network provider to one that doesn't cover your home. Your recommendation caused me to take out a contract with T-mobile, only to find that I had no internet coverage and very bad quality voice coverage at home. Ignoring the coverage factor is very London-centric, ignoring the fact that there are huge areas of the country that are not covered by some networks. In my opinion this should be the prime factor when looking for a new contract.

Consider broadband discounts for having a mobile contract with the same company
Several mobile providers offer discounts if you have both broadband and a mobile contract with them. In some cases this discount is added to the mobile contract, but in some cases it's added to the broadband contract. As such it would be nice if I could just have a setting somewhere, or an input box, or something, to specify that having a contract with say O2 gives me a £5 discount that needs to be taken in to account when looking for cheaper alternatives.

Tell more people what a great job you do
Thank you bill monitor - what a wonderful service you offer. My phone contract is for a registered charity and as a result of your analysis vodafone have cut our bills form £26 to £8.75 per month!! And I got a new phone too. The savings of over £200 in a year will allow us to put a deposit down on a new mobility scooter for our visitors - THANK YOU AGAIN!
